The Renogy DC to DC Charger offers a unique dual charging option, allowing the house battery to be charged from a starter battery linked to the car alternator or by connecting solar panels directly to the unit. Both ways can be charged simultaneously to minimize charging time, with up to 99% MPPT tracking efficiency and 94% conversion efficiency, enabling a 1kWh battery to be fully charged within 2 hours using solar energy.

The charger's soft start circuit design ensures a gentle voltage rise at the input end, avoiding potential damage to the on-board battery charger or the starter battery due to instantaneous overvoltage when the car alternator starts. The ingenious structure design features removable side covers to prevent electrostatic damage and a NEG- terminal with a partition design to integrate the terminals for solar panels, the array starter battery, and the house battery, simplifying installation.
